Quick explanations of the main pages and order types.
Dashboard
Account Value shows total portfolio value (cash plus positions at their latest price). Market Status shows whether trading is open or closed.
Account
Positions list your holdings, their quantities, and valuation at the last traded price. Reserved cash and positions are for open buy or sell orders. Bonds and liabilities appear in their own sections and are not counted toward account value.
Asset Types
Internal assets trade inside the simulator - you can only trade / execute orders with other users in the simulator. External assets track outside markets and use their latest price as a reference. Bonds are issued by users, trade internally, and are redeemed at their expiry value on the expiry date.
Bonds
The Bonds page has an Exchange tab to trade outstanding bonds and an Issue tab to create new bond sell orders at a chosen expiry. Bond tickers include the issuer and expiry (MM-DD).
Research
Internal assets show Bid, Ask, and Last. Bid is the highest open buy limit price, Ask is the lowest open sell limit price, and Last is the most recent trade price. External assets show their latest price.
Placing Orders
Use the New Order page to choose a ticker, quantity, side, and type. Limit orders require a limit price. Stop orders require a stop price and are only allowed for sell orders.
Order types:
Market: Executes immediately against available orders and takes the best price (for external assets, this is the current price). Does not stay open.
Limit: Executes at or better than your specified price (lower for buys, higher for sells).
Stop: Becomes a market order when the last price drops below the stop price.
Transaction History
Shows cash and position deltas from trades and adjustments, ordered by time.
Leaderboard
Displays ranked users by account value for those who opted in.
